Haussmann's Rennovation of Paris was a massive architectural program commissioned by the Emperor Napoleon III from 1853-1870, which demolished the chaotic, ugly, and unsanitary medieval neighbourhoods of Paris and replaced them with the beautiful cream coloured buildings, wide boulevards, parks and squares that you see today. The entire city was rebuilt in a matter of two decades.
